About ARCHD Landscapes
Landscape architecture - originally called ‘landscape gardening’ - dates back to the 1800s when it mostly entailed master planning and garden design for palaces; manor houses; royal properties; religious institutions and government complexes. In the 21 st Century landscape architecture still encompasses all of the above, but also offers creative and practical landscape design solutions for residential, rural and commercial properties.
I am passionate about landscape design and enjoy all aspects of it. To me it is like doing a jigsaw puzzle and each design offers me a new puzzle. When I walk into a garden I don’t see what it is, I see what it is about to become. I see the potential.When I listen to your garden story, I immediately start visualising and often the design is imagined before I get back to the office.
I have spent my life in North Canterbury and have an extensive knowledge of local conditions. I have solid experience in landscape design, landscape construction and nursery work along with an in-depth knowledge of local climes and soils.
I studied at Lincoln University and attained a Bachelor’s Degree (Honours) in Landscape Architecture.
